The Yemen National Freight Forwarders Association (YNFFA) was first established in Hodeidah in 2005 as a part of the Yemen Chamber of Shipping (YCS). 

YCS has been the officially recognized Trade Association for the Yemen Shipping Industry since it was first established on 17^th August 1977. This was followed by official registration (Ref: 357/-2) on 22^nd December 1981.

As the two businesses of Ship Agency and Freight Forwarder are mutually exclusive in the international arena, a separate group (YNFFA) was established in May 2005 and application made to FIATA, as the world apex body for freight forwarding,  accordingly. 

FIATA, at their World Congress in Moscow, of 11^th to 15^th September 2005, approved YNFFA’s membership application for membership making YNFFA the officially recognized National Association for the forwarding industry in Yemen.

Subsequently, on 19^th June 2006, a License Agreement was signed with FIATA to enable YNFFA to supply the ICC recognized FIATA Bill of Lading (FBL) document in Yemen. 

The current elected officers of YCS, as the parent body for YNFFA are:

 Regular monthly meetings are held in Sana’a, where all present and prospective members are welcome.
