| The
Yemen National Freight Forwarders Association held their
first Sana’a meeting last Sunday – May 27th
2007.
Major
players from the industry met at Yempac’s office
premises. Issues discussed include change that will
affect the industry, such as Yemen’s intended
membership of the GCC, a new focus on export cargoes and
how direct trade input to the present Customs ASYCUDA
system may alter business profiles.
Members
were encouraged to participate in international
conferences specific to the freight forwarding industry,
such as the next RAME meeting in Amman, Jordan, plus the
annual World Congress of FIATA, to be held in Dubai
between Oct 18th and
22nd this
year.
The
next YNFFA meeting is scheduled for June 10th.
YNFFA
is an approved FIATA national association, formed under
the umbrella of the Yemen Chamber of Shipping.
Membership
is open to all registered companies who move cargoes by
land, air or sea. Further
information is available from the Yemen Chamber of
Shipping, or Mr. Anwar Ali Ahmed, mobile 711 825 136. |
